„The worlds first bike sharing platform that lets you share your bike with others and turns it into profit„, so wird das kickstarter-Projekt bike2like beworben, das gerade gestartet ist und 30.000 Euro einsammeln will.

Moment mal, die erste Plattform, auf der man sein Fahrrad mit anderen teilen und damit Geld verdienen kann? Was waren dann Upperbike und Spinlister, die ich beide schon im Blog vorgestellt hatte?

Richtig ist wohl, dass der Markt für Leihräder deutlich wachsen wird. Ob am Ende aber wirklich Privatleute mithilfe solcher Apps einen großen Anteil daran haben werden, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Ich denke eher, dass Städte und Unternehmen in naher Zukunft große Verleihsysteme anbieten werden, über die es dann einfacher sein wird, ein Fahrrad zu mieten. Einfacher als heute bei der Verfügbarkeit und einfacher bei Reklamationen oder Problemen, weil dann sofort professionelle Ansprechpartner zur Verfügung stehen und man sich nicht mit Privatleuten „rumärgern“ muss.

Insofern bin ich skeptisch, ob bike2like die anvisierten 30.000 Euro zusammenbekommt. Viel Glück wünsche ich natürlich trotzdem.

Meine Anmerkung, dass es schon andere bike-sharing-Systeme gibt, wurde aufgegriffen und bei kickstarter wie folgt beantwortet:

Its true, there are other platforms, which support bike sharing. But none of them lets you share your bike easily with just a barcode and an app. Most of them have a complex system renting system, where you have to negotiate with the provider.
We are the first who offer an easy way to share your bike easy and safe all over Europe and the US.

Die crowdfunding-Aktion wurde beendet. Hört sich so an, als wäre man nicht wirklich gut vorbereitet gewesen und hat nach ersten Rückmeldungen das Projekt (vorerst) eingestellt. Die Zeit für bike2like sei noch nicht gekommen…

This journey has prematurely ended but we don’t want to leave you in the dark. So here’s why we decided yesterday to terminate our Kickstarter campaign:

From the feedback we received and the questions people asked we learned that we have underestimated some crucial elements that prevented us from making the bike2like vision come true. Feeling that the idea and our work to this point deserved better than a lacking Kickstarter campaign we wanted to end it on our terms.

While we still believe in the idea and think that our time will come it is probably not now. We want to thank all supporters that wanted to contribute and we will let you know if we take the idea in another direction.

This is not over … we are just taking a pause.
